Help!

I am hoping that someone (or more) can help me out! Our church's ladies group has a service where you volunteer to bring a meal to a family in need. Well, I signed up and now I need to deliver a meal to our church for a family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) No allergies or special needs. The meal (I'm guessing the main dish) needs to be delivered to the church in a freezer safe dish. I think the church is storing the meals for the family. Anyway, I have NO idea what to cook or how to know if it's freezable or how to get it fixed if they want to freeze it or what to put it in!! Please, help me!! I sound like an idiot but I'm really stressing out over this! I really feel moved to provide this service and I don't want to turn it into "Libby Drama"

Any help or suggestions will be so so helpful!! My meal isnt "due" until Oct. 15. and when I signed up I put "chicken dish" but I can change it if I need to.

Thanks so much,

Libby

Saturday Sew In

After my FNSI was a fail, when my head finally cleared, I really wanted to sew! Husband was at the Fire Dept. so it was just me and Cade at home. He got busy playing outside with the dogs and playing a video game inside. I got busy making a set of pillowcases. This was the fabric that I washed Friday. I bought the floral fabric at Joann's last week. I LOVE it!! The colors are prettier in real life. (i know everyone says that) This fabric has a kinda vintage cool 60's look to it. I knew instantly that I wanted to make some pillowcases with it. If you are thinking "Man, Why did she stick that big ole white cuff on those cases?" I plan on doing some embroidery on the white cuffs. I'm thinking a monogram with some flowers! I'm really hoping that they turn out as nice as I think they will!

BTW...My neck is better...not so much shooting pain up into my head...which is a very good thing! I am sticking to ibuprofen and heat on my neck....no more muscle relaxers!
Have a great Monday!

FNSI Results

Well, let's just say that I didnt do much!! I am pretty sure the problem was the muscle relaxer that I took about 5pm Friday night. ( in my attempt to get healthy, I pinched a nerve in my neck. I do not like taking medication at all but since my husband was home, I decided to take the pill for some relief.) I put some fabric in the wash for the pillowcases that I planned on making. I straightened up my sewing room, then put some of my embroidery floss on bobbins. Next, I went into the living room to tell my husband something, sat on the sofa ....and fell asleep. I don't remember getting in my bed or anything else. and since my sewing room was just as I left it, I took my poor picture this morning.

I did not get anything started...much less finished. SIGH! Husband is at the fire dept. all day and night today so I will not be taking any medication!!! Maybe I can get some sewing in!

Flickr Stitch Along

This is the little pattern that I stitched up for the September Flickr New Embroidery with Vintage Patterns Stitch Along!! The theme was "Wednesday/Sewing" On the old "Days of the Weeks" patterns, Wednesday was some kind of sewing or mending day.

This pattern came from the Flickr group Hoop Love Vintage Transfers. The member who posted it is Mmaammbr. This member has MANY amazing vintage patterns on her photostream!! I am so thankful that people are so kind to share!

This was so much fun! I really thought about making a bag or a dishtowel but I decided that I would really like to make a few more stitchery's in a sewing theme, put them in old hoops and hang them in my sewing room!
Now go to Flickr and check out all the wonderful embroidery!

Crafty

I thought that I would show the little sewing kit that I made for myself. I am sure that this is not a new idea but it was to me! I took a little gift card tin from Michaels and hot glued a magnet strip in the bottom of it. TA DA!! A perfect little container for needle, thread and my embroidery scissors!
Perfect for a little outside stitching!

Too bad our weather hasnt been perfect for outside stitching! We are still having hot humid up to the high 90's days! I am ready for Fall!
I have been very busy at Cade's school. The librarian, Mrs. Sherry, is starting another round of chemo so I am happy to fill in for her. But, I have been eating better and walking 60min everyday!! Even in this heat! I feel good and my clothes are fitting better! I am hoping to fit some sewing into my schedule soon!! I miss it so much!
