Nothing New
Remember when I showed this apron? I made 2 aprons for the quilt shop that I worked at. I made them to display with this great book that we were selling.

Here is the second apron! I had so much fun making this apron. There was the sweetest lady that worked at the shop. Her name is Corrine, she was in her early 70's and was a quilting superstar!! She taught the beginning quilt classes (still does at another shop) and was just the best teacher! We loved to kid with her and tell her that she had to dress up in costumes for events. She is a very tiny thing! Anyway, she wore this apron around the shop. We told her to wear some ruffled panties under it but she didnt..she wore her little jeans. The trim didnt show up good in this picture. It is that "leather" fringe that you see on cowboy and indian things.
I am SO ready for Fall! It is still SO hot here in Georgia. We are in the upper 90's with heat advisorys almost everyday. I was downtown and saw that Bath and Body had their Fall/Halloween soaps in so I bought some of our favorite Fall soap. It is Carmel Apple and it smells just like Fall baking to me!
Come on Fall!

Happy Memorial Day
I am finishing the binding on the pinwheel baby quilt. I have been fretting over the label. I want to make a hand embroidered label but I can't find a font that I like. I do know that I am using some of the cute, cute flowers from the Daisy pattern that I got from big B. Love them!
I hope everyone enjoys this day with families and remembering. I just can't think of anything braver than serving, fighting and giving all for our country!

Busy Doing Nothing
I wanted to share 2 more pictures with you. I live right across the street from my parents. I was raised in that house. When my sister and I married we were given land as wedding gifts. My sisters house is right beside mine. That is until they had to move to Alabama. Our kids grew up together just like my sister and I did with our cousins who lived right up the road from us!

The Longest Day
Why the longest day? After putting it off for almost 2 years and a bunch of planning between the adults, Cade got to have a friend from school over to spend the night. I won't go into it but "F' was removed from his parents at the age of 3 (for good reasons) "F" is on medication (for good reason) I have dealt with "F" at the school many, many times. He has a horrid reputation. I have been told that if "F" was to come to Cade's birthday that some other kids would not be allowed because of "F's" behavior. Really, I don't blame the parents. Andy and I decided that this weekend would be the weekend that "F" got to visit. We knew that we had our work cut out for us when he pulled a knife out of his pocket and quickly ran and jumped off our deck! Then he decided it would be fun to keep jumping at the cat and yelling at her to see her scared. Well, she finally went after him like a wild dog!! Believe me, he has stayed away from her since then!!
We sat down to eat supper, that I had cooked (nothing fancy-pork chops, roasted potatoes, salad and rolls) said the blessing and ate together..like we do every other night. Well, "F" said "Do ya'll eat like this all the time? " Cade just stared at him. I said "Yes, every night" and he said " This is great! This is the bomb, I love this" That made me feel so bad for him. It made me think of the things that I did wtih Cade when he was 3. We went for walks, we did crafts, we baked every friday, he was tucked in every night and met with hugs and kisses every morning. Not for 1 day has my boy ever thought that he wasnt loved and wanted by us. What a difference it makes!
So, yes, I will be glad when "F" goes home but I will have him over again!

Back to School
Today was the last free day! Back to school for me and Cade tomorrow. Yuck! I have really enjoyed our snow days. I love having Cade home and having nowhere to go! I just like being home.
Someone else noticed the little birds! She would love to go out there and "make friends" with the little birdies!

Fall
Saturday we all drove to Kelsey's college to celebrate her birthday. We got to see how she has fixed up her apartment and spend some time with her! Which means we took her shopping!!! Daddy got to buy a couple of formal dresses for his baby girl!! We had a nice lunch with her. Then we had to rush home to drop Cade off at a party. We watched UGA lose again and went to bed with our Bulldog tails between our legs!
Our Book Fair starts back Monday so I will be busy busy this week! I joined another stitch along on Flickr, I won't get any stitching done this week but I know it will be on my mind!! This cooler weather really makes me want to sew!!
Thanks for all your help with my meal ideas from my last post! I feel so much better about taking something now, I might sign up for an extra day!
Have a wonderful Fall week!

Weekend Wrap Up
Saturday, Kelsey (and her laundry) came home for the day. We had terrible storms but we all enjoyed a nice lunch out and a little shopping.
Sunday, we had church, then we went out. We are looking for some new living room furniture. I dont know how we ended up at Joann's but we did!! Maybe because Toys R Us is next door to it and Cade had been wanting to go there and "look around" The picture above is of the fabric I bought. (but didnt need)
It was a nice weekend but now, I need to clean up around here and buy some groceries!!
Hope everyone had a Great weekend!

Wednesday
Here is the other baby quilt that I have made using that same pattern. I have shown 3, there should be 1 more. I will look for it. I made this one for the same lady that I just made the purple quilt for. She took this one to an embroidery shop and had the babies monogram put on it. It turned out very sweet.
I don't have to go to the library today. I have a drs. appt. later. I plan on picking up a little and going for a walk. It snowed here Monday, Tuesday it was 70 and beautiful! My 3 favorite guys and I all went for a walk. Maybe I will get some sewing in too! I am embroidering a squirrel on a pillowcase for Kelsey. Squirrel is her sorority mascot!
Cade gets his braces tomorrow and we are celebrating by going to the movies to see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"
Have a great day!

Winter Break!
My dryer decided to break down for my birthday! It is about 20 years old and the drum shifts from time to time. The repair is simple and the man who fixes it says that we wont be able to buy one that will be as good as this one so to keep it til it can't be fixed. Getting it out of my house is a big headache. My little laundry room is so small that we have to move the washer to get the dryer out. The guy fixes it overnight so we just leave the washer and everything that is kept in the laundry room in the middle of my kitchen! What a mess! "We" also let the washer hose slip which spilled water into some clean kitty litter so now I am waiting to put everything back so that I can mop this messy floor!!
I am excitied about Heidi's Friday Night Sew In! I am trying to decide on what all to work on. Saturday, I am taking a redwork class so that is exciting too!
We are still enjoying watching the Olympics at night. We all stayed up late to watch Shaun White win his gold in the half pipe!
I made a Red Velvet Cake for my birthday. (i am trying to load a picture grrr) It turned out pretty good in fact, it was good enough that I will send the leftovers to the Fire Dept. so that I don't eat it all up!! Well, blogger is taking too long I will try to load the picture up later!
This post seems very, very boring so if you are still reading til the end...I really thank you for hanging in!
Have a great day,
Libby

I Heart Hearts!
Things have been busy around here. We are getting a new roof because of some hail damage. I have 2 very pretty leak marks in my kitchen and bathroom! We have had roofers and insurance people in and out! Ruby does not like this at all! She hides under my bed! I would rather take my chances with the roofers than to go under my bed! Yuck! Cade had his first orthodontist appointment this week! That boy has some really crazy front teeth! The skin from his top lip is joined too tightly to his gums, pulling his two front teeth up. They are going to put in a spreader to help them come down without surgery. Kelsey and Joey were both in braces at the same time. Kelsey had hers for 4 years!! Cade's seem cheap compared to the price of the two of theirs!!
I am still "working" in the library at Cade's school. We have another Book Fair starting next week!!! We just had one in October! Cade's school was just built last year. It turned out not to be a good year to build a new school! The county and state both had to cut budgets so the school building is very nice and modern....just not much money left to furnish somethings like library books, tv's, projectors, things like that. There have been fund raisers going on all year long! I am sure that the parent's are getting tired of it!
We may get some frozen rain in here on Friday night. I will not complain though, so many of the bloggers that I read are getting so much snow and braving snow and ice storms! I know that we are ready for Spring!
Thanks for reading!
